Making the Transition (2023)
We’re excited to share our next DBER-SiT event: Making the Transition from PhD Student to DBER Postdoc. The event will be held virtually on Friday Mar 10, 2pm-4pm PT/5pm-7pm ET.
The goal of the event is to discuss two kinds of transitions: (a) from PhD student to postdoc and (b) from bench work to discipline-based education research (DBER). We’ve designed the event to be accessible to all, regardless of prior experience in DBER.
The 1st hour of the event will consist of a panel discussion with faculty members who work with DBER postdocs and/or have themselves made the transition from bench work to DBER. In the 2nd hour, we will facilitate small group discussions with current DBER postdocs.
If you are interested in attending the event, please RSVP here.
If you are a current DBER postdoc and can join for the discussions, please fill out this form.
Finally, if you’re interested in applying for postdoctoral funding, you can watch this recording of our previous event about applying to the NSF STEM Ed IPRF.
Feel free to contact Zack ([email protected]) and myself ([email protected]) if you have any questions about this or future events.
