Recruiting Expert Feedback for Eco-BLIC
Hello,
We hope you are safe and well! Our research team at Cornell is developing the Biology Lab Inventory of Critical Thinking for Ecology (Eco-BLIC) – an assessment to measure students’ critical thinking and reasoning about ecology field and lab data. We have interviewed several students about the questions and piloted the assessment in 16 classes.
We are wondering if you could help us with the next step in our assessment development process by answering the Eco-BLIC to the best of your abilities using your expertise in the discipline. Your answers will help us learn how the questions are functioning, how to design the scoring scheme, and where future adjustments need to be made; this process should take approximately 30 minutes of your time.
We have added a comment box at the end of each page of the survey where you can add any feedback or suggestions you may have on the cases, prompts, and questions.

Thank you for considering this request; we look forward to receiving your vital input!
Warmest regards,
Ash Heim, Post-doctoral Associate, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology
David Esparza, Graduate Student, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology
Natasha Holmes, Assistant Professor, Physics
